History:
Dian Fossey was an American zoologist who undertook an extensive study of gorilla groups over a period of 18 years. She studied them daily in the mountain forests of Rwanda, initially encouraged to work there by famous anthropologist Louis Leakey. The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International founded in 1978 committed to conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa.

Celebrating the 82nd birthday of American zoologist Dian Fossey, Google has posted a doodle on its homepage. The doodle features a large number of gorillas and Dian Fossey taking notes.
